Astigmatism is a common vision condition that causes blurred or out of focus vision. Generally caused by an irregularly shaped cornea or lens preventing light from focusing properly. Astigmatism can also occur due to the curvature of the lens inside of the eye.

Optometrists can provide glasses or contact lenses to help correct the astigmatism by altering the way light enters the eyes. A standard soft contact lens is usually ineffective in correcting Astigmatism.
